    Dear All

    We are looking for content writers for our travel website, blog and press
    releases.

    What is the rate offered per article or per hundred article, Does press

    Hi,
    We're using the AdHoc reporting feature of the API to retrieve
    KEYWORD_PERFORMANCE_REPORTS on CUSTOM_DATE in GZIPPED_CSV format. If I'm
    reading this blog post
    (http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/GoogleAdsDeveloperBlog/~3/_zFRiK8mQ44/adsense-management-api-working-with.html)
    correctly, the maximum number of rows per report delivered as of March 29th
    should be no higher than 50,000. However, the reports our application has
    downloaded on March 30th at 8:10 AM UTC have the correct number of rows in
    them, which is much higher than 50,000.

    I'm not sure how to interpret this: am I required to change our reports
    downloading process to only request batches of 5,000 rows by paging them
    using startIndex and numberResults, or the above blog post does not apply
    to this kind of reporting?

    Thank you

    "Sérgio Gomes" <sergio.gomes@google.com> Mar 30 07:12AM -0700

    Hi Andrei,

    Sorry, I should have been clearer on the limits page. The limits only apply
    to inline JSON responses; if you use gzipped CSV, then it's not a problem.

    They also have not changed; these are the same limits that have been in
    place since the beginning; we were just trying to provide some more
    clarity. Which I suppose may have not worked so well :)

    We'll be working on some content showing how to use gzipped CSV
    downloading, and will be updating our other documentation accordingly. In
    the meantime if you or anyone else has any questions on how to use this
    feature, let us know here, and we'll be happy to help you figure out how to
    do that your specific programming environment!

    Cheers,

    Hi Silvano,

    Thank-you for the information.

    I noticed that on the "Link Units" reports tab, that there are metrics
    called "Link Clicks" and "Link Page CTR".
    When I use the API to pulldown data for our corresponding Link Units, I
    cannot find any metrics that tie out with that data from you list of
    metrics:
    https://developers.google.com/adsense/management/v1.1/reference/reports/generate
    Please look at the attached image of the report.
    As you can see, there are "Link Clicks" and "Clicks." The only
    corresponding metric in the API is called "CLICKS." Is there no way to get
    this link related data?

    Well thats true, but wait untill google indexes the website, and sit back
    and relax. Your new URLS if they do not contain the exact permalinks they
    are considered broken. Let Google index your new permas" . If you have
    backlinked your ecommerce site then you should be ok. What i mean here is,
    if your anchor backlink is still pointing to your $ site, then wait again
    for indexing and heres a trick I do when I get 404's. I find all my
    backlinks pnted to my $ site and re ping them every 1-3 days... not every
    day because you might delay Google indexing or piss him off lol Pinging is
    not as crucial as indexing, find a good indexer, and you will see big
    results. I have created my own indexer, but that I will not mention here.

    http://www.seomoz.org/learn-seo/redirection

    I redirect for an honest reason is not a bad thing. Matt Cuts knows more
    than anyone about Google and SEO. He has covered 301 when they are right
    and wrong. 301 redirects are used for many reasons. Good ones are fixing
    caps issues and adding WWW or removing it. They also help for adding
    trailing slashes.

    They are there for a reason. If you need to move a site and to get people
    to the correct page.

    People who think they are experts used to use then to avoid losing page
    rank so Google takes off a small percentage when you do it.

    Doing nothing is stupid and getting fake linkbacks is worse. Be honest and
    write good content. Consider building your own site so you control every
    aspect.

    If you are still having issues Google will likely be looking at you in a
    negative light because they are being set every where.

    If page A matches page B and you do a 301 from A to B why would Google hate
    you? If your page B is nit even close Google is going to think you are
    tricking people and are going to knock you down.

    You need to take care to redirect everypage to the correct new page. Or
    make sure that you are using the same URL as you were before.

    This backlinking is good after. But you need to get your site straight
    first. If you don't let Google know you moved the page then you will lose
    everything and if you move it with a 301 and the referring page is not
    similar to the new page Google is going to wounded why you did it.

    danny <cabral.danny@gmail.com> Mar 21 07:28PM -0400

    you know since im in a good mood the answer you really are looking for is |
    Google both recognizes upper case and lower case letters in a permalink
    structure. you want to try to do a 301 redirect to those URLS that are
    either uppercase letter structure or mixed. Google 301 redirect, and you
    may learn beyond of what you are looking to achieve. This works, and get to
    work! lol

    Hello,

    Thank-you for your previous help with the PHP api. I was successfully
    able to extract report data using it.

    I am now trying to extract data from the old Adsense interface under
    the tab "Link Units." Upon my reading of the available metrics in:
    https://developers.google.com/adsense/management/v1.1/reference/reports/generate
    I don't see any metrics that correspond to the "link unit metrics"
    such as "link unit impressions" or "link unit coverage."

    Can one extract data from via the API for these "link unit" metrics?

    Silvano Luciani <silvano.luciani@google.com> Mar 29 02:20AM -0700

    Hello Johnny,

    link units are a discrete subset of ad units, so if you know
    beforehand the IDs of the ad units that are link units, you can use
    those IDs to filter your report by ad unit ID.

    Currently is not possible to retrieve programmatically which ad units
    are link units, but that sounds like an interesting feature and we
    will add it to our roadmap.

    Cheers,
    Silvano

    Nikolai,

    It appears the Service Accounts lack the credentials to act on
    behalf of a user is what I am guessing and the reason that we get
    noAdSenseAccount Error. So we are proceeding with the installed
    Application and a refresh token path. I do not like this route because
    of all people Google should understand the need for servers to be able
    to communicate without the requirement of user clicking a button
    especially if there are private and public keys in play. We will just
    have to create a function to generate an Auth Url in the case of
    accidental or unforseen token revocation.

    We are posing these pitfalls and ridiculous hurdles to our Partner
    Team in hopes google will make the wheel round again instead of
    reinventing it square. Although the next variation will most likely be
    an octagon ;-)

    Hello Eric and Nikolai,

    Sorry for the late answer but I was away, and thanks Nikolai for
    helping out Eric!

    >       It appears the Service Accounts lack the credentials to act on
    > behalf of a user is what I am guessing and the reason that we get
    > noAdSenseAccount Error.

    Correct: Service Accounts can be used only when an end-user is not
    involved, which is not the case of the AdSense APIs where you access
    data on behalf of a user.

    > especially if there are private and public keys in play. We will just
    > have to create a function to generate an Auth Url in the case of
    > accidental or unforseen token revocation.

    I understand your point about automation, but the problem here is that
    to access data on behalf of a user, you need their consent to do so.
    Consequently they'll have to log in with their Google account to grant
    permissions to your application at least once. If the application
    requests offline access, it gets a refresh token that can be used to
    renew the access token, so no need for clicks after the first time.
    You could also set the option 'approval_prompt' to 'auto' so that a
    given user sees the consent page for a given set of scopes only the
    first time through the sequence.

    > Team in hopes google will make the wheel round again instead of
    > reinventing it square. Although the next variation will most likely be
    > an octagon ;-)

    I'm sorry if this is your perception of what we are doing, but I don't
    think that we are reinventing the wheel.
    We are implementing a specification being developed within the IETF
    OAuth WG, you can find the latest draft here:
    http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-oauth-v2-25

    To ease the integration of the OAuth 2.0 flow, we are developing and
    open sourcing client libraries for 9 programming languages:
    http://code.google.com/apis/discovery/libraries.html

    I hope you'll find the above useful, please let me know if there's
    anything else we can do to support you.

    Eric Haskins <eric@voodoo.com> Mar 28 09:05AM -0700

    Silvano,

    I would agree if our app was for more than our publisher account
    but it isn't. We are a parking partner so our systems need a way to
    access only our earnings. My point is we are the programmers for
    Voodoo (voodoo is a company not a person but is treated as a user) and
    we are writing the systems to total earnings and reporting, if our
    employer gives us access to the account and our partner team links our
    Google Accounts to access it we have already been given permission. So
    I see your system is great for consumer situations but it really
    doesn't support partners like us. If we are pulling public and private
    keys and jumping thru hoops ........ It takes less to run credit card
    transactions with Authorize.net and we are only talking about
    statistics. There should be a way to auth a service account to a user
    account plain and simple or by virtue of the private key allow a
    service account to act on behalf of the user. The user could revoke
    said key at anytime if there was an issue.

    We have to generate code to create auth urls on systems that usually
    dont get accessed via the web like our stats farm. I know the refresh
    token route but we have to plan for inadvertent or unforeseen token
    revocation.

    There should be a better way and I have expressed this to our Partner
    Team

    Hello Vaibhav,

    Sorry for the late answer but I was away.

    You can use the refresh token as many times as you want, as long as
    the user doesn't revoke its validity. Every access token expires after
    3600 seconds, so for example you'd need to refresh the access token
    every hour if you wanted to execute the script hourly.

    About your second question, it is better from the perspective of users
    accessing their personal data using 3rd party applications. With OAuth
    2.0 they don't have to give their username/password to the developer
    of the external application, as they log in on a Google server and
    then grant authorization to the 3rd party application. When they don't
    want to use the application anymore, they can revoke the validity of
    the refresh token.

    Let us know if you have any additional questions!

    Cheers,
    Silvano

    I am trying to find out how widespread responsive design has currently
    become for web designer, does anybody know of any survey or polls?
    Even rough numbers would be useful.

    Since I haven't found anything I am trying to do my own poll.
    Answering it will take only 4 clicks and less than 30 seconds. You can
    access it here: http://responsive.wufoo.com/forms/z7x3x5/ and the
    results are here: https://responsive.wufoo.com/reports/z5p8q2/

    If you could just answer it or even spread the word with a twit or

    Your search result may vary in different TLDs of Google and that is mainly
    due to the geographical factors. If you want to target your keywords in
    India for google.co.in, then you can change your webmaster tool's
    geographical settings. You can also set different sections of your website
    for different countries.

    No, I'm afraid this is not available from the API at the moment. I've added

[Inside AdSense] Google Israel for Businesses blog launches in Hebrew

We've heard from many of you that a blog in Hebrew would be very useful. With this in mind, we're excited to announce the launch of the Google Israel for Business blog. We have a lot of information to share, so we've decided to create this new blog format as a one-stop shop for all the information both publishers and advertisers need, including AdSense and AdWords information.

In order to subscribe to only AdSense topics simply visit the blog, and under "Subscribe to a label" on the left hand side, select the category "AdSense". Then, you'll only get alerts for posts categorized under that label. If you click "Subscribe via email" (also on the left hand side) you will subscribe to the entire blog (i.e. all labels).

Subscribe to the new blog today!

    Oh, but some examples of generating JWT do exist in docs. Here they are:

    https://developers.google.com/accounts/docs/OAuth2ServiceAccount

    So here's my PHP working code base on those rules:

    <?php
    $now = time();
    $jwt_header = base64_encode(json_encode(array(
    'alg' => 'RS256',
    'typ' => 'JWT'
    )));
    $jwt_claim = base64_encode(json_encode(array(
    'iss' => '268481************@developer.gserviceaccount.com',
    'scope' => 'https://www.googleapis.com/auth/adsense.readonly',
    'aud' => 'https://accounts.google.com/o/oauth2/token',
    'exp' => $now+3600,
    'iat' => $now
    )));

    # here i include one class from PHP client library to create JWT signature
    require_once 'google-api-php-client/src/auth/apiSigner.php';
    $p12 = new apiP12Signer('707ea88c********-privatekey.p12', 'notasecret');
    $jwt_signature = base64_encode($p12->sign($jwt_header . '.' . $jwt_claim));

    $c = curl_init();
    curl_setopt_array($c, array(
    CURLOPT_HEADER => false,
    CURLOPT_POST => true,
    CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER => true,
    CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS => array(
    'grant_type' => 'assertion',
    'assertion_type' => 'http://oauth.net/grant_type/jwt/1.0/bearer',
    'assertion' => implode('.', array($jwt_header,$jwt_claim,$jwt_signature))
    ),
    CURLOPT_URL => 'https://accounts.google.com/o/oauth2/token'
    ));
    $x = curl_exec($c); $token = json_decode($x, true);

    /*
    at this point i'm authorized
    $x contains something like this:

    {
    "access_token" : "1/8xbJqaOZXSUZbHLl5EOtu1pxz3fmmetKx9W8CV4t79M",
    "token_type" : "Bearer",
    "expires_in" : 3600
    }

    so i just json_decode it and continue my requests to Adsense API:
    */

    $query = 'access_token=' . $token['access_token'];
    $query .= '&accountId=pub-*****';
    $query .= '&startDate=2012-03-01';
    $query .= '&endDate=' . date('Y-m-d');
    $query .=
    '&metric=PAGE_VIEWS&metric=AD_REQUESTS&metric=MATCHED_AD_REQUESTS&metric=CLICKS&metric=EARNINGS';
    $query .= '&dimension=DATE';

    curl_setopt_array($c, array(
    CURLOPT_HTTPGET => true,
    CURLOPT_URL => 'https://www.googleapis.com/adsense/v1.1/reports?' . $query
    ));
    $x = curl_exec($c); curl_close($c);
    ?>

    However i have one problem at this final step. Request ALWAYS gives me
    noAdSenseAccount reply and i have no clue how to fix it..

    But authorization works great anyway.

Each AdSense in Your City event includes presentations on optimization tips, DoubleClick for Publishers Small Business, and our mobile offering. Publishers who attend also receive a one-on-one consultation with a member of the AdSense team to review their site and offer customized recommendations. The events also provide a great opportunity for our attendees to meet and network with other AdSense publishers.

If you're interested in attending an AdSense in Your City event, let us know. We'll be sending out invitations soon so make sure your AdSense account is opted in to Special Offers so we can reach you. Also, if you're not near one of our North American cities, don't worry, AdSense in Your City is now global!

    Sign up for Google Webmaster tools and choose the appropriate dropdown box
    so your website points to India. I would guess that it is currently pointing
    to USA. You cannot have both - you have to choose one or the other.

    Hi,

    I am trying to build a WordPress plugin that will show daily visitors
    (plus some other "timed" data) next to daily Adsense earnings for that
    blog; now my question is, how do I match WordPress & Adsense timezones?

    For Wordpress there is no problem, as from PHP I can know the blog
    timezone, and the time for each visit; but what about Adsense? Is there a
    way to retrieve the Adsense timezone? Is there a workaround for achieving
    this?

    Thanks a lot in advance to the great Adsense API support team!

    Can I use the same refresh token for a long period of time? For instance to
    get a new access token every 2 hours? Thus my script would have requested
    12 access tokens in a day, 360 access tokens in a month and so on...
    I am aware of the fact that I am sending my refresh token,client secret to
    google under HTTPS. How does it make it better than sending
    username/password under HTTPS?

    Ok so I get an access token and a Refresh token

    I am writing the code so my server can get a new access token if it
    expires (terrible for Server to Server but I guess google doesnt think
    so)

    $data = array(
    'client_id' => 'XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.apps.googleusercontent.com',
    'client_secret' => 'XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX',
    'refresh_token' => 'XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX',
    'grant_type' => 'refresh_token'
    );

    $ch = curl_init("https://accounts.google.com/o/oauth2/token");
    curl_setopt($ch,CURLOPT_POST,true);
    curl_setopt($ch,CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER,true);
    curl_setopt($ch,CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS,$data);
    $resp = curl_exec($ch);

    print_r(json_decode($resp));

    RESULT:
    [error] => invalid_grant

    Scopes were
    'https://www.googleapis.com/auth/adsense',
    'https://www.googleapis.com/auth/adsense.readonly',

    The structure is right out of the Documentation. Is there anyone here
    that has managed to access the AdSense Management API with PHP without
    using a web app i.e Server to Server with OAuth2 ??? I can do it all
    day long with Twitter but for some reason but google's version seems
    be all sorts of difficult.

    Thx
    Eric

    Silvano,

    Then why even put it in your docs??? Seriously and I mean no
    disrespect if you say in the Docs "Here choose from these methods to
    link your application" Oh ok ours is a server to server application
    so we choose it but we cant find any documentation on how to query or
    create the JWT (which I figured out but have no clue how to use now).
    If it isnt documented why even show the option I would think Google is
    better than that. The OAuth implementation is weird and it doesnt
    seem to fit with a stats server coming in and needing to get the daily
    stats if you have to have a person go and click an "Authorize"
    button. I have tried using the refresh token method and my server
    keeps getting a

    [error] => invalid_grant

    Hello Eric,

    the refresh token method should work fine, are you using the Google
    API PHP Client Library?
    If that's the case, are the AdSense examples working for you?

    Cheers,
    Silvano

    Thanks. Can you give me an example or two or an article that gets into a bit more detail? I have a variety of clients in different fields so I can focus my chances on the ones with the best fit for edu linking. Some examples could really help me out.

    Dear OP,

    I think you have to sit tight and wait, this happens , I have seen in past
    where Google take bit longer time to index new url's. If you have used 301
    redirects from old domain to new one, every thing will be restored soon.

    One question, did you changed the address at webmaster tools? if not do
    that, this helps a lot. You can complete steps here at Google's support
    center Moving your
    website<http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=83105>
    .

    Hope this helps.

    The more visitors you have towards your site the more improvement you can
    see in alexa, do social networking, make a G+ page and FB page and keep
    updating via Feeds

    dont overdue backlinks and dont always point them directly to the money
    site all the time 5 - 10 backlinks a day got it, the rest point somewhere
    elese. google dosnt favor spam and mass backlinks, trust me they wont
    stick, damn i should work for google :) , let the link have a path many
    paths reaching your money site, google indexing is the key

    danny <cabral.danny@gmail.com> Mar 21 12:40PM -0400

    Look at your refering sites in CPANEL then check your back links.
    Backliinks that stick are backlinks that are above pr 3 and the website, or
    place this backlink is in must be high iin indexing with google. Again ,if
    the back link is on a page that google barley crawls or suks, you will not
    get the back links... start creating back links your self, self optimize
    those links, marinate the links to be linked, dont link them the same day,
    wait for google index so that they can index your link too
