So, i just set my preferred domain in gogole webmaster tools and
opened my htaccess file to add the redirect.
I'm using opencart 1.4.9.5 I'm not sure if the plug in added anything
to the htaccess file but I'm wondering if what i have added is
correct:
This is what my HTACCESS looked like before:

my preferred domain is set to the www version
